Five years from now, we’ll arrive somewhere. The question is, where do we want to arrive?
Anton Matthews shares his inspiring insights as an entrepreneur, founder and Managing Director of Hustle Group. Anton is focussed on paddling his waka towards his destination rather than letting the winds and tides take him.
He firmly believes that where intention goes energy flows, and our people are capable of extraordinary things if we give them extraordinary things to do. Anton’s company, Hustle Group has a vision for 2026 with an extraordinary destination in mind. As they head towards that destination its an exciting ride.

About Anton
First and foremost, Anton is the proud father of three beautiful tamariki and husband of Jess. Born and bred in Ōtautahi but with whakapapa back to Te Rarawa, he links to the far north in Ahipara too. Anton owns and operates Hustle Group, an organisation comprised of Hustle Hospitality which has several local eateries and a handful of food trucks; as well as Hustle Education which delivers workshops, mentoring and coaching in business development, te reo Māori and Māori cultural competency.
Hustle Group also maintains strong community ties through their charitable trust, Angitu, which has a particular focus around creating opportunities for rangatahi Māori (youth) to experience success as Māori. Hustle Group is focussed on developing its own people, building intergenerational wealth for future generations, sharing Māori culture and language with the community and only ever saying ‘yes' to something that works towards making Hustle Group a greater organisation as apposed to just a bigger organisation.
