Elevator Pitch.

COIN South is a collaborative innovation network for Southland startups and businesses to grow and thrive. We have an incredible network of mentors, industry experts, alumni and coaches, and a can-do attitude. We’re focused on coaching individuals and businesses using startup methodology and design thinking to ensure we support successful, profitable, and sustainable businesses, and connect startups and businesses with the right people, skills, and tools at the right time.

Ours is a bottom-up approach: nail your bottom line from the bottom of the world, and everything from there is up.

What’s On.

From masterclasses to meet ups, COIN South hosts and supports collaborative events across the innovation ecosystem. We’ll also add in events from business legends in the region where we think they’ll benefit innovators like you.

News & Stories.

Stories from fellow founders, case studies from local innovators, and resources to help drive your idea forward. We bring you the best that innovation has to offer in the south.

Work a bit more flexibly.

When you’ve outgrown your kitchen table and the cat’s lacking any water-cooler chat, get out of home and into an office. Southland Business Chamber and COIN South offer a shared work space for freelancers, office workers and startups in a friendly, open and flexible environment.

  • "The COIN team rock. They are creative critical thinkers and doers. If you have an idea or an existing side hustle or business, this is the place to review what's working, what isn't working, get support to make changes and make cool shit happen in Invercargill or globally."

    Camelle Pink

  • "Ideas are really the easy part. But actually making the idea a reality is the challenge. When you’re a small business, it’s easy to feel like you’re on your own. Having the Start It group and the Coin team there all rooting for you is awesome."

    Kim Spencer-McDonald

  • "Before starting I was unsure if I should spend this money when just beginning business - however I know now this course is invaluable so would be willing to pay more! The in-person mentoring sessions were definitely the most valuable."
